WHAT is fRETfEST?

fRETfEST is a Live Music Showcase and Music Mentoring Program that offers a holistic approach to starting an independent music career. Built around live music performances, it focuses on artist development through music industry insights and audience development. fRETfEST is supported by the Australian Performing Rights Association (APRA/AMCOS) and it caters to the needs of singer songwriters at every level of development, from emerging amateurs to professional artists. Auditions and workshops offer coaching, which leads onto live concert performances at community centers and festivals venues right across South East Queensland. AUDITIONS?

fRETfEST provides auditions - and career development opportunities - for independent unsigned singer songwriters.  Successful applicants receive paid live music performances and may be featured at music festivals.  We train musicians in the art of audience rapport, song presentation and industry professionalism.  To audition, Click >>>> Get Audition Information!

MENTORSHIPS

fRETfEST provides Professional Skills Development Services ( MENTORSHIPS ) which guide musicians towards a successful career in the music industry.  Mentorships are $1,200.00 per year with regular monthly activity meetings and coaching included. MUSIC WORKSHOPS

fRETfEST has begun hosting FREE MUSIC WORKSHOPS + LIVE PERFORMANCES on Sunday afternoons, once a month at the Gold Coast BROADWATER PARKLANDS. Thanks to everyone who has attended. WORKSHOP DETAILS details are at www.fretfest.com/workshops and there are free Live Music performances follow the workshops each month!

This initiative is funded by RADF, the Regional Arts Development Fund which is a Queensland Government and Gold Coast City Council partnership to support local Arts and Culture.  The workshops will be presented at Broadwater Parklands, Southport.

BAND COMPETITION

fRETfEST is helping young bands get started with live gigs & mentoring on Tuesday nights. If you want to take your band to the next level, get involved. Bands must register in person at the venue on Tuesday nights. TEMPO HOTEL 388 Brunswick Street, upstairs, on the MAIN STAGE. This is not a jam night. This is a professional opportunity to learn, play, promote your band and gain valuable live performance experience with feedback from professionals in themusic industrry. Bands must register in person at the venue ON TUESDAY NIGHTS ONLY.
